Short-Term Vocational Certificate Courses are introduced as per G.O.Ms.No.33, Dated:- 07.04.2004, from the academic year 2012–2013 in Junior Colleges, Institutions, and NGOs of Telangana, to cater to the needs of various departments, hospitals, establishments, and industries. These courses are designed according to certain guidelines issued under the latest Skill Development Initiative Scheme (SDIS) and Modular Employable Skills to implement and impart skills effectively
Vocational Courses were introduced with the following objectives:
Short Term Vocational Certificate Courses (Revised) are introduced on need based to the local Departments, Hospitals and Industries. These courses are designed duly following certain Guidelines issued under latest Skill Development Initiative Scheme (SDIS) and Modular Employable Skills to implement and to impart skill effectively.
Short-Term Vocational Certificate Courses of 6-months and 1-year modules are introduced in the sectors of Engineering, Health & Medical,Commerce/Retail, Home Science, Media Services, General Services, and Fitness with the objective of providing training to SSC, Intermediate Failed or Passed students or candidates who are interested in acquiring job-oriented skills and wish to join the world of work to enable them to earn their livelihood. These courses are being introduced as self-financed courses.
